Vale is now a proud sponsor of Parachute, a national, charitable organization dedicated to preventing injuries and saving lives.

As part of this alliance, our first injury prevention message to share, courtesy of Parachute, is the ThinkFirst Smart Hockey program.

Smart Hockey aims to reach young Canadian hockey players and those who support them with interactive, injury prevention messages. A Smart Hockey concussion kit is now available that you can download.  Whether you’re a player, a coach, a parent or a fan, this kit is for you!

You can also view the Smart Hockey video that provides information for young hockey players, coaches and families on how to prevent, identify and return to play after a concussion.  It includes a guide for coaches and trainers, concussion management handouts, and assessment tools. It also features 12 on-ice tips taught by the pros to improve your game and prevent injuries on the ice.

Want to hear about other’s experiences? A player, a coach and a medical student weigh in on the Smart Hockey resources. See what they have to say here.
